The Board of Directors of Salcon Berhad ("Salcon" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that Salcon had on 22 January 2007 signed a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") with Peoples' Government of Nan An Municipality, Fujian Province, Republic of China to further develop the water supply and the reformation of water industry and to strengthen the construction of basic infrastructure in Nan An Coastal 3 towns (Guan Qiao Town, Shui Tou town and Shi Jing Town) known as Coastal 3-Town Water Intake Engineering Project ("the Project").
The Project involves construction of a raw water pipe line with total investment cost estimated at RMB368 million to transfer 345 MLD of raw water to the above Nan An Coastal 3 towns on Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) or Build-Transfer (BT) basis.
