The Board of Directors of Salcon Berhad ("Salcon" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Salcon Engineering Berhad ("SEB") via its joint venture, China Geo-Salcon-Access JV, has on 16 May 2007 received the Letter of Award from National Water Supply & Drainage Board of Sri Lanka for Batticaloa Water Supply Project ("the Project").
The Project awarded is valued at US$16,124,466.13 and Sri Lankan Rupees 2,244,273,952.43 equivalent to approximately RM124.6 million.
SEB's scope of works covers the Process Plant, Mechanical and Electrical Works, which corresponds to approximately 30% of the total award value. The Project shall be completed within 30 months from the date of commencement.
None of the directors and/or major shareholders of the Company or persons connected to them have any interest, direct or indirect, in the above Project.
