Further to our announcement dated 15 January 2007, the Board of Directors of Salcon Berhad ("Salcon" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Salcon Engineering Berhad ("SEB") via its joint venture, Rastamas-Salcon JV, has received a Letter of Award dated 17 July 2007 from the Pengarah Kerja Raya, Negeri Sabah for sewage system project in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah-Phase 1 ("the Project"), on turnkey/design and build basis.
The Project is awarded at a provisional contract sum of RM183,355,000.00.
The scope of works of the Project is inclusive of:
(i) Proposed Sewage Works in Inanam Catchment;
(ii) Proposed Sewage Works in Penampang Catchment; and
(iii) Proposed Refurbishment Works for Pump Stations in Kota Kinabalu City Center.
The Project shall commence on 1 August 2007 and the date for completion is 31 July 2010.
None of the directors and/or major shareholders of the Company or persons connected to them have any interest, direct or indirect, in the above project.
